This 2-channel dock speaker is perfect for iPhone 3G devices, but it is pretty functional to other iPod models as well. It has a decent size and sound, with no GSM noise, and has a sleek and attractive appearance. It is also portable and easy to use, with a deep bass sound and an extra audio input. However, the sounds are not as superb as that of hi-fi speakers. The sound gets distorted when bass boost is on, but improves when it is off. This cute multi-purpose iPod and iPhone speaker is pretty practical since it has many devices in one, such as clock, radio, and alarm clock. Audio-wise, is good to know that this produces no distortion even at maximum volume. The sound is well-balanced and clean, though its volume is only limited from 0-20 which means that its loudness is just enough for an average listener. It also has an easy-to-read, large numbers and 3 brightness levels. However, its brightness level may still be a bit brighter even when set at minimum setting, and this may affect a person in a dark room prior to sleeping. It has dual alarm settings: for weekdays and weekends, with different alarm options (wake-to-radio, wake-to-iPod, wake-to-CD, and wake-to-buzzer), but it has no nap mode. It also has a weak FM tuner, but its alarm and radio are backed-up with on-board batteries in cases of power outage. Its remote can also control the iPod connected to it. Retail price is $87.99.

3. Sony Compact and Slim Travel Speaker for iPod and MP3 Players

This travel speaker I think is the cutest speaker with the best functions there is.  It has great design and its base closes to protect the speakers. It is very user-friendly. However, it has a pretty low volume even when set at maximum. Overall, this device produces average quality music perfect for cars, dorm rooms, and other private settings which prevent disturbance to other persons nearby. Retail price is $22.16.
