Apple Iphone vs Google Nexus One
Google has recently launched the Nexus One to compete against other mainstream smart phone brands like the Motorola Droid, Palm Pre, and Iphone. The Nexus has been specifically targeted to compete with the Iphone because it is still the leading brand in the smart phone industry. The specs on both these phones are hard to compare, and we’ll list some of them below.
The storage capacity for the new Iphone is about 16GB and the Nexus provides expandable memory from 4GB to 32GB depending on how much money you have to spend. Both batteries have their strengths and weakness, Nexus allows you to talk for 2 hours more while Iphone provides a longer standby time. Nexus has the advantage when it comes to cameras though because it is equipped with a 5.0 megapixel camera compared to the 3.0 from the Apple Iphone. However, Iphone provides video editing software that can’t be found on most other smart phones.
Wireless connection and GPS are now available on most phones, generally they have similar specs so they are very hard to compare between two competing brands. Voice commands are also enabled, and there is no set sign to tell that either one is superior in that area. The video formats that Iphone supports are MPEG 4, H.264, MP4, M4V, and MoV along with the most common audio formats. Nexus has a smaller video/audio format capacity and it supports MGEP 4, H.264, and H.263.
Applications from both these phones come from two very different places. An Iphone user would by his programs from an iTunes application store, while a Nexus One customer would purchase his products from the Android market. Both of these application markets have a large selection of programs to choose from, they are very different from each other but one isn’t considered better than the other.
Google has a excellent record for services so in that department it is rated better than the Apple products. However, Apple guarantees quality user experience to people all over the world and is famous for its rich application and media systems. A Nexus is much simpler to get if you live in the US, aside from that they are presently only selling them online, another downside is that Google hardware servicing does not have a very presence in many countries. Apple on the other hand has excellent servicing systems all over the world and can guarantee all of they’re products.
